How to make your very own snowdog:
What you need to create a snowdog
No snow?
If you don't have any snow, try making a snowman/snowdog using marshmallows, frosting and different candies. Use your imagination and make it fun - mmm... good. |
- Snow
- Rocks or coal
- Straws for whiskers
- Felt for the ears and paws
- Scissors
- Straight pins
What to do
If you can make a tight snowball, you've got perfect snowdog-making conditions. Start by rolling a snowball in all directions, packing the snow as you go. Make two snowballs, one bigger than the other. Stack them on top of each other. Make two smaller ones for the feet. Add the rocks (or coal) for the nose and eyes. Cut out the felt for the ears and paws. For paws, cut one big circle and three little ones for each paw pad. Ask a grown-up to attach the ears and paws with the straight pins.
You can also make your own Sparky the Fire Dog Snowdog (say that three times fast) by adding a firehat and, of course, spots. Use the following pattern and directions to make the fire hat. Use black felt for spots! |
